Use the buyer guides to frame a sample comparison. Begin with similar-weight references, sample format and garment-detail trials; retain the actual specification and open questions.
Compare similar GSM
Weight per area describes one part of a material record. Compare the identified references with their supplied composition, width and other available information, then study the same garment question.
Keep thickness separate
GSM alone does not establish thickness. A thickness result needs its own measurement conditions. Do not use the weight converter to infer garment bulk or warmth.
Choose a sample format
Swatches, larger cuttings and sample metreage serve different decisions. Request enough area for the intended observation or trial, and confirm the commercial conditions with Fred.
Turn handling into a useful note
Describe what you observed and how you observed it. Identify the sample face, direction and setup. Retain the physical references so the observation can be discussed again.
Make a garment detail
When the question concerns the final combination, include the intended facing, support and lining. Tie the result to the pattern and trial revision. Your observation is distinct from factory evidence.
Prepare an evidence request
Send mandatory composition and care requirements with the reference and trial questions. Ask for current article information. This guide does not assert unverified stock, prices, washability or product certification.
Use a guide to resolve the next unknown
Start with the question preventing a decision. Compare samples when the appearance or hand differs; check weight and width when the figures are not comparable; review thickness when the concern is a real layer stack. Care and quotation guides address evidence and commercial consistency separately. Keep the resulting open questions in the same sample brief.
Select the guide by the unresolved decision
When two samples feel different despite similar labels, use the sample-comparison guide. When the numbers themselves use different units or widths, resolve that basis first. A concern about a layered front belongs with the actual construction trial, while an unconfirmed care requirement needs current-article evidence. Reading every guide is not a prerequisite for a useful enquiry; choose the one that helps formulate the question blocking your project.
If a reply resolves only part of the question, retain the remaining gap and move to the relevant owner. For example, identification of a replacement cutting can settle which sample is being discussed without settling whether it meets a fixed requirement. Keep that distinction in the handover.
